I combine the diffident aspect of the charcoal with a more assertive use of the acrylic to create a juxtaposition within the media. The charcoal drawing acts as a background that references the humbleness of the culture being represented. The acrylic painting is referential to iconic high fashion patterns that prowl into the image as well as in the mind of the consumer. The contrast in the two medias show, in a not so subtle way, the cultures who have no access to the world of high fashion.
